Safe-Latch for Out-Swing Doors

Most classroom doors open by swinging out into the hallway; these are called out-swing doors. Typically, these can only be locked from outside, which could create a danger to the teacher who must turn their back on the hallway while locking the door during an active shooter incident. Safe-Latch for Out-Swing doors reduces risk and makes it fast and easy for a teacher or student to engage the door latch in one fast motion.

Unlike braces, bars, boots and barricades, Safe-Latch locks the door against intruders without making it impossible for authorities and first responders to enter. It’s a better, simpler way to keep students and teachers safer.

“We now have a complete emergency protocol for locking down each classroom quickly and easily for each teacher. In times of emergency sometimes people struggle to quickly lock the door with a key. This way the teacher doesn’t need to work with a key and they can easily slide the Safe-Latch out, locking the door and securing the room.”
